INFORMATION SESSION on INTERNATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES for BUSINESS STUDENTS

September 5, 2017 | RBC 091 4:10 -5:30PM

Hosted by the CBE Global Initiatives Office, the CBE Global Information Session will give students an overview of the process to integrate an international experience into their Lehigh education. Students will learn about the different types of international programs available to business students, how to plan their experiences, and what financing and scholarships are available.  Information will be provided from the CBE’s advising team, the Center for Career & Professional Development, Lehigh’s Study Abroad Office; Iacocca Institute & Lehigh-UN Partnership; Martindale Center for the Study of Private Enterprise and Tauck Scholars Program.
Following the brief presentations, the International Business Club will host a panel Q&A session with business students that have recently participated in different international programs.

Taste Around the World

Monday, November 7 | Williams Common Lounge @ 4:00-5:15PM

As part of Global Union's International Week, the International Business Club will host "Taste Around the World" where students can get a taste of what it's like to study abroad as well as actually taste some local desserts.
Students representing their study abroad country will be available to talk to and ask questions, while sampling a dessert.
Learn about a study abroad experience in Shanghia, China over a glass of "bubble tea"  or enjoy finding out about opportunities to study in Italy while tasting a delicious cannoli!
Enjoy conversation; sample local deserts and see pictures from the students that have recently studied abroad.

Case Competition

March 25, 2015
The International Business Club and the Marketing Club co-sponsored a case competition with Real Time Cases! Real Time Cases is a startup education company that was founded by four Lehigh students. The company’s concept is to bridge the gap between the professional work environment and higher education through experiential learning. Their content is based off of real companies, in real time, to make education as fun, relevant, practical, and up-to-date as possible.

Did you know? Foreign markets overall represent 80% of the worlds purchasing power; 92% of the worlds economic growth; and 95% of the world's consumers. US Exports of goods and services were $2.3T in 2013 and International Trade supports 38 million jobs in America (1 in 5). This was a special presentation by Cora Landis, Program Director - International Trade Development Program, Lehigh University's Small Business Development Center. This event was hosted by the International Business Club. Attendees Learned About: Globalization beyond academics; Real world education; and Jumpstarting your professional development. "Globalization Going Backwards"

Richard Brandt, Director of the Iacocca Institute talked about the current status of Globalization today and how things are changing in a dramatic way. It was followed by an info. session on the Global Village Program & summer opportunities for students. This special presentation focused on the fact that things are changing in a dramatic way, including America's position in the world, the changing and declining position of the BRIC countries and the emerging of new leading countries. This event is hosted by the International Business Club and Management Club.
