Lehigh's MBA & Engineering Program is intended for engineers looking to advance into leadership roles

An MBA in Engineering prepares graduates for leadership positions in industrial planning, venture capital, and engineering management; and as senior managers in roles requiring both technical and business acumen. The Lehigh FLEX MBA is committed to developing leaders in business and in industry with the MBA & Engineering degree (MBA&E) option. The MBA&E unites two premier programs in one powerful joint degree by offering a solid foundation in both business and engineering. 

The program is taught in an interactive manner by faculty who are leaders in their fields with a wealth of practical experience; it also combines core business courses and core engineering courses:

Total: 45 credits

  • FLEX MBA Core Courses (18 credits)
  • Engineering Core Courses (12 credits)
  • Free Business Electives (5 credits)
  • Free Engineering Electives (6 credits) 
  • Free Electives (3 credits)
  • Integrated Project (1 credit) 

MBA Core Courses:

Prerequisites [not required for admission] include: Basic Statistics for Business & Economics (ECO 401), Financial Reporting for Managers and Investors (GBUS 401), and Principles of Economics (ECO 001).

The program is designed for students with an undergraduate degree in engineering and classes can be taken both on campus and online. Applicants are required to have two years of professional work experience and must be accepted by both the College of Business and P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Applicants can, however, take engineering courses while they are fulfilling the work requirement. 

The MBA&E program offers engineering concentrations in the following: chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering*, computer science*, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, industrial and systems engineering, materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, and polymer science and engineering. Upon graduation, a student will receive a MBA degree with a concentration in the engineering discipline. 

*NOTE: Computer Engineering and Computer Science courses are offered during the day.
