Lehigh University offers non-degree status in the College of Business

Students who do not wish to enter a degree program may seek admission with non-degree status. Non-degree students may take no more than twelve credit hours of graduate study at Lehigh. Any transcript or other record from the university will clearly indicate the student status as non-degree. The non-degree application may be used to apply for:

  • Prerequisite courses of financial accounting, statistics, or principles of economics for the FLEX MBA program
  • Transfer of credits to another institution

  • Single courses or electives that can be used towards the FLEX MBA Program

 

Application Deadlines

A complete application must be received by the Graduate Programs Office by the listed deadlines. Deadlines that fall on a weekend or holiday are extended to the next business day. 

Fall

  • July 15 for Domestic Students 
  • May 1 for International Students

Spring

  • December 15 for Domestic Students
  • December 1 for International Students

Summer

  • May 1 for Domestic Students
  • N/A for International Students

  • Letters of Recommendation (2)
  • Proof of English proficiency, if necessary
  • GMAT/GRE test scores are optional

Admission to the College of Business as a non-degree graduate student requires the applicant to have earned a four year baccalaureate degree. Foreign transcripts may require independent evaluation; please contact our office well in advance of your planned start date for information pertaining to foreign credentials. 

Students may pursue up to 12 credit hours for college credit as a non-degree student. The credits earned will be recognized on a Lehigh University transcript.

 

Enrollment Deposit

All students must submit a tuition enrollment deposit when accepting the offer of admission to secure a place in the program ($500 for domestic students / $1,000 for international students). The deposit must be received by the specific deadline noted in the offer letter. The deposit will be applied to tuition. A student who does not matriculate forfeits the deposit. 

 

Transferring Course Work

Students who intend to transfer credits to another institution's program must include a letter of good standing from the current institution you are attending. The letter must also indicate that your course work at Lehigh will be accepted into your degree program.

Credits earned under non-degree status may be used as electives or toward fulfilling prerequisite requirements for the FLEX MBA program at Lehigh provided a regular application, including GMAT scores, is made within four years of course completion. An offer of admission as a non-degree student does not imply acceptance into the FLEX MBA program. FLEX MBA applications will be submitted to the FLEX MBA Admissions Committee and must be approved for degree status. 

 

Financial Aid

Students in a non-degree status are not eligible for merit financial aid awarded through the College of Business. Students may be eligible for federal or state financial aid, or alternative education loans as outlined on the university's financial aid website.
