Wondering how to apply to our one year MBA program? All the application deadlines and requirements can be found below. We recommend that you start gathering your materials a few months in advance of the application deadline. This ensures that you have enough time to request transcripts from your undergraduate institution, register for and take the GMAT or GRE, and obtain letters of recommendations from past professors or employers.

Here’s what you’ll need to apply:

1. APPLICATION

To apply for the Lehigh 1- MBA Program, use Lehigh's online application system

2. ESSAY

The Lehigh 1-MBA application essay should provide a summary of your career objectives and relevant work experience with reference to the chosen field of graduate study, and the leadership experience and skills you will bring to your peer group. This is your opportunity to set yourself apart from the other applicants, in your own words. The essay should be uploaded in the online application.

3. RESUME

Your professional resume should list your education and professional achievements. Include your computing skills. The resume should be uploaded in the online application.

Candidates must have three years of full-time, professional post-baccalaureate employment. Internships and co-ops do not apply to the three-year rule.

4. GMAT OR GRE TEST RESULTS

Either the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is required of all entering applicants.

Please use the proper program code shown below to have your official scores sent to Lehigh. Our office keeps GMAT scores on file for a period of five years. Official scores normally arrive at the MBA office two weeks after the exam has been taken.

5. OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS

You must submit official transcripts from ALL universities attended, all post-secondary education including transfer credits. Official transcripts bear the signature of the university's registrar and the seal of the issuing institution. The official transcripts must be submitted to us in a sealed envelope and may not be opened by you. In addition, copies of transcripts should be uploaded to the online application.

International applicants, in general, must have 16 years of formal education, including four years at the university level, to be considered for admission to the Lehigh 1-MBA program. Applicants should submit official English translations. If credentials do not record the awarding of the degree received, you must submit certified true copies of your diplomas. If credentials do not show the grading system used by the university, you must also submit a separate official statement from the university that gives this information.

International students who cannot provide the required documentation will have to supply a Course by Course Evaluation (fees for this service are the responsibility of the applicant). The National Association of Credential Evaluation Services lists a number of accredited evaluation companies that can provide Course by Course Evaluations.

APPLICANTS FROM CHINA

CollegeNet China Credential Service

Applicants from Chinese institutions may request and submit official transcripts directly through the graduate application. Requests are submitted and processed by CHESICC. A service fee of $12 is charged by CollegeNET.

After entering your college/institution in the educational history section of the graduate application, you will have the option to order official documents.

The processing time for the CHESICC documents is approximately 20 days.

When your CHESICC electronic documents are processed and received by Lehigh University, you will not need to send paper transcripts.

Questions should be directed to the Graduate Programs Office at business@lehigh.edu. Provide your full name, name of college/university and whether your application has been submitted or is in progress.

6. LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

You will enter your recommenders' information through the online application. Once complete, a web link will automatically be emailed to the recommender. Letters from family members or friends will not be considered. Paper copies of letters of recommendation will not be accepted.

7. ENGLISH PROFICIENCY [TOEFL or IELTS]

Applicants whose native language is not English are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language® or the International English Language Testing System exam.  All international students must show proof of English Proficiency to be admitted to Lehigh.

A student's english proficiency test date may not be older than two years at the time of your application to the program. The Lehigh 1-MBA program will continue to accept all versions of the TOEFL test as long as the scores come directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS). Scores must be received directly from ETS to be considered official. Lehigh's institution code number is: 2365.  IELTS information can be found at ielts.org.  Official test scores must be submitted from the testing agencies directly in order for this requirement to be satisfied.

Lehigh University Graduate Admissions​ downloads IELTS scores that have been transmitted to our e-download account. Please contact your test center and​ request that your scores be sent to ​the following IELTS e-download account:

Recommended minimum scores

Internet-based TOEFL [iBT]: 94

Recommended iBT subscores:

  • Reading: 25
  • Listening: 20
  • Speaking: 24
  • Writing: 25

IELTS: 7

Recommended band scores:

  • Reading: 7
  • Listening: 6.5
  • Speaking: 7.5
  • Writing: 6.5

8. FINANCIAL GUARANTEE

International applicants who accept the offer of admission must submit a financial guarantee demonstrating sufficient funds to meet educational expenses for the first year of study. Scanned copies of the original bank statement or bank letters are acceptable. The financial guarantee should be no more than 6 months old. Include a letter of sponsorship if the expenses will be paid by someone other than the student. These documents should be emailed to the Graduate Programs Office at business@lehigh.edu. The minimum amount you must cover to show solvency for immigration documents is $81,120 and includes the following costs:

  • Tuition - $64,750
  • Health Insurance - $1,970
  • Twelve months living expenses - $14,400
  • Total Amount Needed for Financial Guarantee - $81,120

Please note: $81,120 is the minimum amount you must show for immigration purposes. The student's actual expenses will be greater and the financial explanation of costs per program can be seen on the tuition webpage.

Immigration documents will only be issued upon acceptance of an offer of admission from Lehigh University and verification of your financial guarantee, TOEFL score, and non-refundable $1,000 tuition enrollment deposit has been received.
