The Real Estate Academic Leadership (REAL) rankings are based on the number of contributions in the top peer-reviewed research journals in the real estate discipline, namely the Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, the Journal of Real Estate Research and Real Estate Economics.

Georgette Chapman Phillips, the Kevin L. and Lisa A. Clayton Dean of the College of Business and Economics, has been chosen from a competitive field of national nominees as an Arthur Vining Davis Fellow. She joined 26 other fellows from around the country at the 2016 Aspen Ideas Festival, which was held from June 26 to June 29 in Aspen, Colorado.

Phillips was selected by Aspen Institute leaders from nominees who are leaders from a wide variety of backgrounds and who represent the entrepreneurial spirit, intellectual curiosity and leadership qualities of Arthur Vining Davis, the longtime CEO of the Alcoa Corporation. Read more.

The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) recently announced the members of its Investor Advisory Group (IAG) for the 2016-2018 term.

Parveen P. Gupta, Professor and Chair of the Department of Accounting was appointed to this prestigious group. The IAG provides feedback and advises the Board on various rules and regulations that it promulgates.  The PCAOB is the accounting regulator that came about as a result of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
