BENEFITS AND UNIQUE FEATURES OF A ONE YEAR MBA

The one year duration of the program, compared to the traditional two year MBA full-time model, will significantly reduce the opportunity costs of those who forego their current employment to attend.

A DEDICATED COACHING TEAM

Each student will be assigned a coaching team prior to arriving on campus. Coaching teams include:

  • 1-MBA program faculty member
  • Lehigh alumnus
  • Dedicated career services staff member

BENEFIT OF THE COACHING TEAM

Coaching teams focused on each student’s professional goals and career aspirations are assigned to students at the onset of the 1-MBA program. They will personally serve as mentors and assist students in identifying internship opportunities and subsequent full-time job placement. Each student’s successful completion of the 1-MBA is a major priority of the coaching team.

INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENT

An 8 week summer internship is an integral component of the 1-MBA and unique to most one year MBA programs. With consideration of each student’s professional goals, the student and coach will work towards securing or structuring this opportunity from the very start of the program. See internships.

BENEFIT OF THE INTERNSHIP

The application of knowledge to actual business problems is critical to fully understand job requirements. The opportunity to intern in a function tied closely to your career goals will expose you to possible future employment, as well as provide the opportunity to bridge the gap between theory and practice.

JANUARY START DATE

The academic cycle for 1-MBA is from January through December (inaugural class: January 2017-December 2017

BENEFIT OF THE JANUARY START DATE

Starting the 1-MBA in January will provide students with sufficient business background to prepare for a June-August summer internship. Given that the summer internship is often the path to full employment upon program completion, a December finish allows firms to on-board 1-MBA graduates in January instead of waiting until the traditional start date of May.
